New Releases: Singles by the Stateside Blues Rebellion Stateside Rebellion, first single released by the Stateside Blues Rebellion. This is their trademark anthem that started it all. Burning thick with commitment to the cause the song is toughened with matter of fact thumps and declaratives. Singer Senator O’Brien’s preacher-like voice on Stateside Rebellion cuts deep and wide as his distinctive lilt beckons us all to join in and be part of the jubilee. The good Senator sings out that there are only two ways to go through this life…“One is the rebellion and the other is the blues…”, and O’Brien, noted for his lyrical sword play, is walking in foot step with some of the best and it is evident in this crawling anthem. Featuring Rocco Serra - Slide guitar and Piano Danik Thomas -Bass Jeffrey Serra- Drums and Handclaps Senator O’Brien-vocals. Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced by Jeffrey Serra and Danik Thomas
It’s a Messed Up World a B-side favorite. This band is moving straight ahead, without restraint and there is no chance in Hell of taking their blues away. It’s not enough that the Stateside Blues Rebellion keeps a firm hand on its blues- bag of tricks but listen to how the song unfolds and you’ll discover their magic is an homage to the likes of James Brown’s It’s A Man’s World. Both are irreverent but this one is new. Featuring Rocco Serra - Electric Guitar Danik Thomas -Bass Jeffrey Serra –Drums Senator O’Brien- Vocals . Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced by Jeffrey Serra and Danik Thomas
The Stateside Blues Rebellion makes its jump to scorching R&B Punk with a fortified slam-of-a-song called Detroit Still Burns. This blaster is not what you would expect to be coming from these bluesmen but this fast pitched howling preach is what kick-starts the rebellion where needed and is brilliantly treated and mixed by producer great, Sylvia Massy a true legend in music. Detroit Still Burns is a Motor City Power- Anthem at its finest. Just remember one thing YOU let it burn so don’t play with fire. Featuring Brendan Mc Nicols - Guitars Danik Thomas -Bass Jeffrey Serra- Drums Senator O’Brien- Vocals Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced by Jeffrey Serra Mixed –Sylvia Massy
Good To Go is a tell-all song covered in a sweet pale of redemption. It is blues made out in the open for all to feel and see. It’s the plain and open way of talking and walking the straights and narrows that’s seductive, here. Another crushing turn by Senator O’Brien and the Stateside Blues Rebellion and the utmost wizardry of Brendan Mc Nicolos arrangements on guitars leaps out like acoustic shadows before the roar and the boom of Serra’s deep burrowing drums and bassist Danik Thomas’s timeless placements of easy feeling attacks. Featuring Brendan Mc Nicolos - Guitars Danik Thomas -Bass Jeffrey Serra- Drums Senator O’Brien- Vocals Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced by Jeffrey Serra
A sonic depiction of the game of Baseball this is the forth single to come from the Stateside Blues Rebellion and this time it’s a full tilt R&B Punk fueled soul that is all about the passion and sacrifice for the love of the sport that we call All American. This number brings chants, magic and secret codes to come to a finish to where to be a star-player is to sweat and grind. Features Jeffrey Serra - Drums and Electric Guitars Danik Thomas – Bass Senator O’Brien - Vocals. Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced and mastered by Jeffrey Serra
Some say its Senator O’Brien at his best when his sings his youthful blue-eyed soul, lean with emotion yet wise and tamed and ripe with good lyrics. On Something About You O’Brien places magic lines on top of magic lines in perfect arrangement and the backing of Serra and Thomas is stellar and approaches epic heights. This love ballad is bigger than itself and like real love it never tires. The production by the Stateside Blues Rebellion is over the top as it should be and is solid and rich in performance. Jeffrey Serra - Drums and Electric Guitars Danik Thomas - Bass James Marabel- Guitar Senator O’Brien- Acoustic Guitar and Vocals. Produced by Senator O’Brien co-produced by Jeffrey Serra, Danik Thomas and James Marabel Mixed and Mastered by Paul Lani
Senator O'Brien plays well within reach of his inner soul on this engrossing spell of a song. On this song All The Way In, he spills and thrills with his stark and meaningful performance in both words and with his lone guitar on this semi acoustic version. The song is a mellow primer of a sort with a melting tale of a country lost, a brother down and city that has turned away from herself and her people. This is a road-house song that sings that with rejection there is salvation, and this fitting climatic tale is backed by the genius of drummer and writer Kelly Jestice who keeps to himself just enough to let the song breath and express itself. All The Way In is the beginning thread to a long list of songs that encompass the Stateside Blues Rebellion, its intentions and its sound.
